About Us
Hi, we’re Mitch and Katie Horowitz. We are lifelong animal lovers who originally hail from New Jersey and now live on a 33-acre mini-farm in the Appalachian mountains of North Carolina along with our two youngest children and a menagerie of pets.
They include 3 champion Portuguese Water Dogs, 2 Great Pyrenees, a French Bulldog, a barn cat, 2 pot belly pigs, 3 cows, 12 chickens, and a parakeet.
Everyone in our family is involved in the care and socialization of all our animals.
We have been ethically breeding Portuguese Water dogs for the past 15 years and also provide a stud service for approved females.
Coldplay Portuguese Water Dogs has been associated with the American Kennel Club since 2003, and we have been voting senior members of the Portuguese Water Dog Club of America since 2009.
Our show dogs have been Best in Breed winners multiple times. These champions and the major media coverage we’ve received have given us national recognition.
We are grateful and proud to have gained the trust and loyalty of countless clients over the years.
Just in case you were wondering why we use the word “Coldplay” in our company name, it’s because Katie loves the band! She also runs a mobile luxury pet grooming business that serves parts of North Carolina and Georgia.

We were proud and excited to have our puppies featured on the Discovery Channel in a show called Portuguese Water Dog Facts and in a segment of the Animal Planet’s Too Cute program.
